Preparing for Baby, well now you can have a sink for Him, Her, and Your new little blessing! Introducing Baby Bathing Bowls

Thursday, May 31st, 2012

You have finally settled into your new home, career is booming, glowing newlywed, and you are expecting. Everything is going smoothly, until it comes time to make room for baby in your new home. Didn’t plan on expecting so suddenly? Now is the time for shopping for the perfect crib, the safest car seat and stroller bundle, plugging in safety plugs and pulling all other safety measures. What else is there to be done? Finding the perfect bathing tub or products for making sure baby is nice and clean.
The pediatrician decides to add in extra pressure to the preparations with a list of precautions, especially when it comes to hygiene for baby. There can be any precautions from the tub you use to the soap you use. For the first few days, baby gets a sponge bath. How do you expect to give baby a sponge bath? Well I say that you use a baby bathing bowl!

The benefits of the baby bowl are the unique design to comfort your little one during that first at home bath, making the experience enjoyable for both parent and infant.

It was designed custom by A.S.S.T. and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Towson, MD Birthing Center. This is the perfect solution to making new mothers comfortable with birthing their babies for the first time.

Aesthetics, Healing, and Healthcare Facilities

Thursday, December 15th, 2011

Hospitals and other healthcare centers were once cold, colorless institutions. That was then, and this is now. Over the past decade, researchers have finally begun to realize the connection aesthetics plays in the healing process. Currently, more than 1,000 research studies suggest healthcare design can improve patient care and medical outcomes while decreasing medical errors and waste.

Thus, hospitals have changed there ways, becoming more…well, hospitable! This change has first and foremost affected hospital design and space planning and has led to the creation of a many more patient-centered facilities. And the biggest trend in healthcare design is the use of evidence-based design (EBD), which the Center for Health Design defines as “the process of basing decisions about the built environment on credible research to achieve the best possible outcomes.” This means creating a healthcare facility that is not only functional, but also aesthetically pleasing.

But presenting patients and clients with a healthcare environment that feels caring and hospitable, while remaining professional, is a serious challenge for healthcare professionals. Luckily, A.S.S.T. can help you meet those challenges by providing architectural millwork, plastic laminate casework, or whatever fixtures your healthcare facility requires.

Here are a few of the solutions we offer our healthcare clients. All of our projects are insured and bonded.

Bathing Bowls That Cradle and Protect

Friday, October 7th, 2011

When a baby is first born, it is so tiny that traditional bathtubs are just not a viable option for bathing. In these instances, many parents turn to their sinks, turning them into makeshift baby bathtubs. But sinks are not designed for this purpose.

The solution: a custom baby bowl/bath.

A.S.S.T. and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Towson, MD worked together to design a baby bathing bowl that benefits both the child and the caregiver. Each of our bowls is custom created and integrated into the existing décor.

Other benefits of these Baby Bowls include:

•      The bowl has an indentation for the child’s head and bottom to create a safe, secure environment.

•      You won’t have to bend, kneel or hunch over when bathing the child. This prevents nagging aches and pains for caregiver.

•      Since the child’s head and bottom are safely positioned, you can use both hands during the entire bathing procedure.

A.S.S.T.’s Baby Bathing Bowls ensure that everyone feels good at bath time.

A.S.S.T. and Healthcare

Friday, September 16th, 2011

Numerous studies within the medical, healthcare and design communities have shown that there is a direct link between a soothing, peaceful environment and the healing process. Patients in aesthetically pleasing surroundings require less pain medication than those in sterile, unappealing environments. This proves that there is a distinct connection between patients’ physical environment and their ability to heal.

For that reason, many hospitals and healthcare centers have begun to incorporate art and other aesthetically pleasing accent pieces throughout their facilities, creating a calming experience for their patients.

A.S.S.T. can help you meet those challenges by providing architectural millwork, plastic laminate casework, or whatever fixtures your business requires.

Here are a few of the solutions we offer our healthcare clients. All of our projects are insured and bonded.
